You Only Live Twice
Jonathan Cape, London, 1964 | Second Impression | Original Dust Jacket
One of the later and more memorable James Bond novels, You Only Live Twice takes Bond to Japan on an increasingly dangerous mission that ultimately brings him face-to-face with his old enemy, Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
This copy is an early second impression published by Jonathan Cape in 1964, the same year as the first impression. It is particularly appealing for retaining its original Richard Chopping dust jacket.
The striking jacket, with its Japanese toad, dragonfly and pink chrysanthemum design, is among Richard Chopping's distinctive covers created for the original Jonathan Cape Bond series. The jacket remains unclipped, an important feature for collectors of early Ian Fleming editions.
