Treasure Island
A handsome 1941 Heritage Press edition of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, illustrated by noted American artist Edward A. Wilson and accompanied by its original slipcase and Heritage Club Sandglass.
This beautifully produced edition of Stevenson’s classic adventure features Wilson’s distinctive illustrations throughout, combining bold linework with a limited color palette particularly well suited to the pirates, ships, and tropical setting of the story. The decorative title page and carefully designed typography are characteristic of the quality associated with Heritage Press publications.
Also included is the original Heritage Club Sandglass No. 12D, which provides background on the production of the edition and Edward A. Wilson’s involvement with Treasure Island. The survival of both the Sandglass and slipcase makes this a particularly complete and appealing example.
