Issued in 1910 by P.F. Collier & Son, this complete 25-volume library edition is beautifully bound in rich emerald-green cloth with elegant decorative stamping and bright gilt spine lettering. The set remains in remarkably well-preserved condition, displaying the sort of uniformity and freshness rarely encountered in surviving examples over a century later.

Each volume is illustrated with photogravures and engravings after celebrated French historical artists including Maurice Leloir and Félix Philippoteaux, accompanied by original tissue guards. The interiors appear exceptionally clean and little used, suggesting the books may have spent decades carefully preserved in a private library.

Uniformly bound in rich green cloth, the volumes feature handsome gilt-decorated spines with crossed swords and fleur-de-lis motifs, along with large blind-stamped fleur-de-lis designs to the front boards.
