Written by William Arden, the pseudonym of Dennis Lynds, and based on characters created by Robert Arthur, this volume was published by Random House in 1978. The copyright page carries the complete 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 number line, identifying this copy as a first edition, first printing.

This is a particularly interesting volume for Three Investigators collectors. The Mystery of the Deadly Double was the final title in the series issued in the original Random House trade hardcover format and the last to feature interior illustrations. The artwork is by Herb Mott, who also created the wonderfully dramatic pictorial cover.

An exceptionally well preserved copy. The glossy pictorial boards remain bright and colorful with only light wear, primarily at the corners and spine extremities. There is minor rubbing and small areas of wear at the upper corners consistent with age.

The binding is tight and secure. The interior is exceptionally clean and bright with no writing, markings or ownership inscriptions. Text and illustrations remain crisp and well preserved.
