The book also features a color frontispiece depicting the scribe Ezra rewriting the sacred records, reproduced from the Codex Amiatinus.

Condition:A good to very good collectible copy. The hardcover and interior appear clean and well preserved. The original dust jacket shows noticeable shelf wear, including rubbing, surface marks, edge and corner wear, and wear at the spine ends. There is a small area of damage/abrasion on the rear panel. The fore edge of the text block has the publisher's intentionally deckled finish.
