Jonathan Cape, London, 1964 | Sixth Impression | James Bond

One of Ian Fleming’s best-known James Bond novels, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service follows Bond from the glamour of the French Riviera to the snow-covered Swiss Alps as he once again crosses paths with Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Originally published in 1963, it became the eleventh novel in Fleming’s James Bond series.

This copy was published by Jonathan Cape in London in 1964 and is the sixth impression. It remains an early Cape printing issued only a year after the first edition.

The book is accompanied by a facsimile of the memorable Richard Chopping dust jacket, with its distinctive hand, heraldic imagery, and “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” stamp design. The jacket is a later reproduction and is not represented as an original 1960s dust jacket.
