Part of the Cities of Enchantment series, the book is especially appealing for its illustrations by Felix Kelly, the noted New Zealand-born British artist and designer. Kelly's detailed drawings capture familiar London scenes and landmarks with a distinctive period style, while his striking artwork for the original dust jacket brings together Nelson's Column, St. Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben, and the ceremonial guards of London.

The book remains in good vintage condition with its original illustrated dust jacket. The binding appears sound and the interior is complete and generally clean, with age toning and scattered foxing or spotting consistent with its age.
