A particularly attractive matching set of three Charles Dickens works in compact, finely executed custom bindings. Published by Chapman & Hall, London, the set consists of The Chimes, Mugby Junction, and The Cricket on the Hearth.

The bindings are especially appealing, with green leather spines and corners over beautifully patterned marbled boards. The spines feature raised bands with decorative gilt floral tooling, along with gilt titles and Dickens' name. The top edge of each text block is gilded, providing an additional touch of refinement when the books are viewed on the shelf.
