An early printing of Joseph Heller's landmark novel Catch-22, published by Simon and Schuster in 1961. The copyright page explicitly states “Eighth Printing.”

This copy retains its original period dust jacket with Paul Bacon's instantly recognizable design and the original $5.95 publisher's price intact on the front flap. The rear panel features the early photograph of Joseph Heller by Seymour Linden.

The book presents very nicely. The interior is clean and the binding remains sound. The dust jacket shows expected age and shelf wear, including toning to the cream-colored areas, light rubbing and marks, and minor wear and creasing along the edges and spine ends. While not the scarce first printing, this is an attractive early printing of one of the defining American novels of the twentieth century, particularly appealing with its original unclipped jacket intact.
