A sharp first edition of David J. Walker's A Ticket to Die For, the novel that introduced the husband and wife investigative team of Kirsten and Dugan and launched Walker's Wild Onion Ltd. mystery series.

Set against the darker side of Chicago, the novel follows private investigator Kirsten and her lawyer husband Dugan into a case involving a troubled attorney, an adult bookstore, a missing dancer and, ultimately, murder.

Walker brought an unusual amount of firsthand experience to his Chicago crime fiction. Over the course of his career he worked as a parish priest, police investigator and practicing lawyer. His earlier Mal Foley mystery series also earned him recognition as an Edgar Award nominated mystery writer.
